The Most Inspiring (Not) Commencement Speech EVER

Posted by Randy in Global Warming

Congratulations to the graduates of the University of Tennessee who got to sit through what I’m sure was the most inspiring (not), the most factual (not), and the most motivational (again, not) commencement speech ever from Professor Albert Gore. The former Senator, Vice President, and of course Nobel Prize winner took the opportunity to again espouse his…um…facts as he sees them to the students. Way to go Mr. Gore.

The Violence of Democrat Hypocrisy

Earlier today I put a comment on a social networking website that denounced the reported violence and stressed that our most powerful weapons we have are our votes. But the more I thought about the complaints from Democrats about the perceived violent backlash, the more I began to remember the Bush years and the disgusting, violent rants from the left. So join me as we reminisce about the thrilling days of yesteryear and relive some of the Bush-hating rants from the kind, gentle and pure as the driven snow Democrats.

Did we forget about the left constantly calling Bush dumb even when it was determined that he got higher grades in college than John Kerry?

Did we forget eight years of the left comparing Bush to Hitler?

Did we forget about Nancy Pelosi saying “You know, God bless him, bless his heart, president of the United States, a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject,”

Did we forget the 2006 movie titled “Death of a President” about the assassination of George W. Bush? I don’t remember any objections to that movie.

How about this MoveOn.org ad comparing President Bush’s foreign policy to Hitler’s?

I can go on and on, but my simple point is that when the left complains and uses the scare tactics of right-wing violence as political tools, the hypocrisy is overwhelming. Either their memories are as short as a goldfish’s (3 seconds) or they are just blatantly duplicitous. Cries of Cheney and Bush as war criminals seem to have been forgotten as they whine and complain when Obama is compared to a socialist based on his policies and now actual bills he has signed into law.

In the same week that he and the Democrat-controlled Congress spent trillions of our dollars without our permission and will be raising our taxes to pay for a complete government takeover of our healthcare, they have the nerve to be surprised that people would react in a less than calm manner. When unemployment doubled on Obama’s watch, people are nervous. But they don’t take into account the millions of people who have attended town hall meetings and marched on Washington, and the relatively few isolated incidents which have been perpetrated by a select stupid few. I have heard every major talk show host and every Tea Party organizer denounce the racist comments and violent actions of a few ignorant people.

I will say it again. Violence against our political opponents is NOT the American way, and the Founding Fathers were wise enough to write wonderfully brilliant documents which spell out how bills become laws, and the rights afforded to us. Personally my keyboard is mightier than my sword and I intend to use it to expose the hypocrites in Congress to whoever wants to read about it. I didn’t start this blog for conservatives only. I envisioned reaching the Democrats out there and educating them that they are hitching their wagons to the wrong star. If you want to make a real change in this country, the answer is to vote the bums out. Send this to a liberal, but then you better stand back. They’re likely to get violent.

We The Sheeple are being led to the (Louise) Slaughter

Before I write another word, I ask that you read Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution States which says:

“Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively.”

Did you get that? “Both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays.” Pretty clear, right? Well not to Madame Pelosi and Rules Chairman Louise Slaughter (D.-N.Y.), one of her minions who wrote the House would “deem” the Senate health care bill passed without ever holding a recorded vote on it  as required by Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution. Now, go back and read it again. The word “deem” appears nowhere in that Article. The nerve of this pretentious Congress to try and change the meaning of the United States Constitution by making things up.

I’m not an attorney, but I can read. It clearly states that both Houses of Congress have to vote by yeas or nays. It doesn’t say that the cowardly Democrat wusses in Congress can just say, “well we’re gonna do whatever the Senate wants and then we’ll trust them to change it regardless of what the American people who voted us into office want us to do.”

If they decide to pull this bogus wool over our eyes, then what’s to stop them from doing it for Cap & Trade, Immigration, and every other government takeover of our lives? Enough is enough and I will do everything in my power to reach as many people as I can via this and other blogs to make sure these corrupt politicians get kicked out of office and have to work in the private sector.

These people don’t care one way or the other about your healthcare, and it’s obvious that they look upon We The People as nothing more than sheep being led to the…um…Slaughter. Representative Louise Slaughter, that is.

Al Gore Shows Up and Doubles Down

Posted by Randy in Global Warming

Gore-Watch 2010...Day 56

Gore-Watch 2010...Day 56

So Al Gore has yet to contact me, but he did write an Op-Ed for the New York Times on Saturday. Al has been conspicuously missing for some time as the snow and ice has been taking over most of the country. So on Day 56 of Gore-Watch 2010, Al shows up and doubles down on his ridiculous theory called global warming climate change.

Now unless you’ve been living under a rock or are a Democrat President or Congressman, you’ve no doubt heard about the scandals, the incorrect information, and the disgraced IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). But in case you haven’t been aware of the shots heard round the non-warming world, here’s a little primer:

* The University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit had some emails hacked that showed that the “scientists” were cooking the books by altering the data to fit into their climate models in order to show warming trends. They were also preventing their material to be peer reviewed and kept dissenting points of view from being presented and published. The University’s CRU supplies the majority of the research on which the IPCC and Al Gore formulated their Nobel Prize-winning research. Their data was used in Michael Mann’s notorious “hockey stick” graph which purported that the temperatures for the late 20th century were skyrocketing which caused all of the panic.

* We also had the report that the Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035. The IPCC and Al Gore included this in their research which I’ll remind you again won them the Nobel Prize in 2007. But alas, this wasn’t actual research, but an article based on speculation and observation. The result? No melting glaciers.

* We heard that the Amazon Rainforest was in danger because of global warming. Yes, it is diminishing, but not because of anything related to the climate. Logging and agriculture are to blame.

* Remember those fast-rising sea levels that will turn Cleveland into oceanfront property? Not so fast there Al. The sea levels are actually slowing not accelerating, and that little report that said the Netherlands were now mostly under water? Turns out it’s not because of climate change. They have always been below sea level. It was just one of those convenient little lies.

* Phil Jones, the University of East Anglia’s lead climate scientist who played a pivotal role in the IPCC’s and Al Gore’s reports recently “admitted that the world might have been hotter during the Medieval Warm Period 1,000 years ago than it is today, that before any rise in CO2 levels temperatures rose faster between 1860 and 1880 than they have done in the past 30 years, and that in the past decade their trend has been falling rather than rising.”  And that “there has been no warming for the past 15 years.”

The UK’s Telegraph puts it very nicely HERE that “Those glaciers are not vanishing; the damage to the rainforest is not from climate change but logging and agriculture; African crop yields are more likely to increase than diminish; the modest rise in sea levels is slowing not accelerating; hurricane activity is lower than it was 60 years ago; droughts were more frequent in the past; there has been no increase in floods or heatwaves.”

So enter Al Gore. How does he explain all of this? Al wrote in his Op-Ed HERE that he still believes “that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged.” Huh? Really Al? Despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, he still believes that global warming is causing the heavier-than-normal snow storms. Did you get that? The warming is causing the cooling and at the same time, the warming is causing the warming. Oh, and that CO2, the stuff we breathe out is a pollutant. You see he has to either double down on these, dare I say stupid theories, or admit that he is nothing more than a low-life crook intent on making billions from gullible people who actually believe we can do something about the climate.

CNNMoney.com reported HERE that at the last Apple stockholders meeting, old Al was ridiculed, and besides receiving more stock options which now total $750,000, someone named Sheldon Ehrlich called Gore a laughingstock. “The glaciers have not melted,” Ehrlich said, referring to Gore’s frequent warnings about the effects of global warming. “If his advice he gives to Apple is as faulty as his views on the environment then he doesn’t need to be re-elected.”

It’s time to give it up Al and get out of town. Nobody is buying your Chicken Little warnings anymore. Now if you excuse me, I need to go throw some more wood on the fire. The “consensus” is that it’s going to be pretty cold again tonight.

President Obama – It’s my party and I’ll complain if I want to

As I watched the President’s little gathering on C-Span today, the differences between the parties were clearly evident on several levels. I think the most obvious was that the Republicans were focused on the actual bills before them often citing hard numbers, financial matters, and the huge chasm of philosophical disparity. They were alert, unified, and firm in their belief of limited government and the need to scrap the 2,400 page bill and begin anew. They did not waver in the face of Obama’s efforts to berate, belittle, and distract.

The Democrats on the other hand were far more emotional and spoke about their uninsured constituents and read the letters from people who have been bankrupted by unfair insurance situations. They were also quite defensive; none more than the President who seemed clearly agitated and annoyed at times. Their talking points also smacked of desperation and knew that if this meeting did not work in Obama’s favor, it would signal the end of healthcare reform and the eventual culmination of mass defeat come November, and subsequently 2012. The Democrats also know that a President with plummeting poll numbers, higher than normal unemployment, and consumer confidence continuing to fall, will not want to be associated with his failing policies for fear that the looming Republican takeover will result in them working in the public sector; not a very pleasant place compared to their cushy government jobs.

Now do I believe there are people out there who do not have insurance or have bad policies? Absolutely. I along with millions of people have pre-existing conditions and I know few people who don’t so I am more than empathetic to the plight. Does that mean that I believe that the government can do a better job than the private sector, or that is even the place of government to do so? I don’t. In fact, I believe that if there is less government involvement in the relationship between a patient and his/her doctor, that the business of healthcare delivery would thrive in an atmosphere which allows for competition, free market principles, and higher standards of care.

Let’s examine the President’s behavior today. I assume that he went into this meeting looking to be the savior of healthcare, like he wants to be the savior of everything else, and he led the meeting in the typical Obama-arrogant attitude. He scolded Eric Cantor for bringing the 2,400-page bill, having it prominently sit in front of him on the table. He also brought the 11-page Obama proposal which is even more expensive and restrictive. The president ignored the substance of Representative Cantor’s message and called the Democrat Bill a political stunt. When John McCain correctly brought up the backroom deals made with Louisiana and Nebraska, and reminded Obama on his campaign promise of Change, Obama said “we’re not campaigning any more. The election is over.” McCain retorted that he’s “reminded of that every day.”

Bottom line; the president came away looking petty, and small, but will still try to Rahm it through despite the American people’s dislike for the bill. The Republicans did a tremendous job and should be commended for the way they handled themselves. I predict, however, that the Olbermanns and Maddows of the world will see it differently. So is the bill dead or alive? Who knows?

Dem. Illinois. Lt. Gov. candidate exits race amid furor

Posted by Randy in Uncategorized

I don’t see the big problem here. It’s an Illinois Democrat candidate. He is a pawn broker, he owns a cleaning supply company, he’s used steroids, he abuses his wife, and held a knife to the neck of the girlfriend. Oh, and the girlfriend was also charged with prostitution. For a Democrat these are not reasons to drop out of a race; these things are a resume enhancement.

Scott Lee Cohen, the candidate announced his decision Sunday night at a Chicago bar. Now that’s a classy candidate.

Vote for me, and I won't slap you around.

Vote for me, and I won't slap you around.

The Obama critics – Is it really still about racism?

Posted by Randy in Uncategorized

I asked an Obama supporter (no names) what she thought of Obama these days with all of the growing opposition. Without even thinking about it, she basically said that everyone opposed to Obama is a racist. Now, I know a lot of conservatives, I listen to talk radio, I watch the most trusted network, Fox News and I can honestly say that I’ve never once heard anyone say they are opposed to Obama because he’s black; well actually he’s half black. The other half is white, so does that make people semi-racist? The only people talking about the prejudice against Obama are the media who are accusing people of being racist without any substantiating evidence. They point to a couple of signs at Tea Party rallies. They like to cite that the Tea Parties are just a bunch of people who call Obama, Hitler and hold up those posters. In reality (a place where the network news organizations can’t seem to find) the source for those posters was Lyndon LaRouche and his organization. In 1979, LaRouche formed a Political Action Committee called the National Democratic Policy Committee (NDPC). LaRouche has run for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States seven times, beginning in 1980. Oh, you didn’t see that on ABC, CBS, NBC, or on The Daily Show? I’m not surprised.

Question; if your are black and conservative, and you oppose Obama, are you a racist? Project 21 is an organization made up of African American conservatives and “is an initiative of The National Center for Public Policy Research to promote the views of African-Americans whose entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to family and commitment to individual responsibility has not traditionally been echoed by the nation’s civil rights establishment” according to their website. They oppose Affirmative Action, Obamacare, and the tax and spend policies of this administration. Is this a racist group because they oppose Obama? Hardly.

What about African American conservatives like Dr. Thomas Sowell and Dr. Walter Williams? Two brilliant men who consistently oppose Obama’s policies and are very vocal about it. What about J.C. Watts and Jesse Lee Peterson, and Atlanta’s own Herman Cain, a wonderfully conservative businessman and talk show host who opposes Obama’s policies more than anyone I listen to. There are many other black conservatives who oppose Obama and the number is growing to the point that I would not be surprised that in the 2012 election, African Americans will overwhelmingly vote against Obama.

When someone questions Obama’s entire educational history, they are called a racist even though his records from Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard have yet to be released to the public. People heard “Hope & Change” and saw that they could elect someone who wasn’t George W. Bush and they bought it hook line and sinker. People thought he would put gas in their cars and pay their mortgages. And the white people who harbored racial guilt also lined up at the polls to vote for someone they knew practically nothing about.

When Obama plays the race card, he injects in the conversation an element that is meant to misdirect people into thinking that he is post-racial. Don’t be fooled. Have you forgotten about the incident where a policeman arrested a professor for breaking into his own home? Without hesitation Obama claimed that the policeman “acted stupidly” Obama went on to say “I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played.” He continued “But I think it’s fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry; No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, No. 3 … that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.” The incident, Obama said, shows “how race remains a factor in this society.” Now, who brought up race this time?

I assert that race is not and has never been the issue with Obama. When our debt has grown more in his first year than any other year in history, when unemployment grew at the fastest rate in decades, when taxes and spending are going up, and the government is taking over businesses, is it not a legitimate argument that the Obama policies are the wrong direction for this country to take? How are any of these things related to racism? Is the reason I did not vote for Obama is because he is (half) black? No, I didn’t vote for him because I believed that he was the wrong person for the job. Today, it’s not about black or white, it’s about green.

Let’s not forget the abyssmal State of the Union Address and Chris Matthews’ statement that he “completely forgot he was black tonight.” Who are the ones making race an issue?

Osama Bin Laden & Al Gore…A Match Made in Heaven? Gorewatch 2010 Day 24

Posted by Randy in Global Warming

Well, well, well. OBL is now on board the CO2 emitting train to Globalwarmsville. It must be getting pretty hot in that cave. So do you think Al will meet with OBL now that he is boycotting U. S. goods and urging other countries to do the same? You see, that really burns me up (bad choice of words) because I have been asking Mr. Gore to contact me at a special email address I created just for him, CallingAlGore@gmail.com for the past 24 days. Have I heard from him? Nope.

Gore-Watch 2010...Day 24

Gore-Watch 2010...Day 24

Now that I think about it, Al Gore and Osama Bin Laden both have the same goals to cripple the U. S. economy; Osama with a boycott, and Al with huge tax increases. Can you imagine if they got together and hatched their little plan? I bet Al goes to the cave for a meeting before he emails me. Should I be jealous?
